Student Council Holds Verlin Karstens, PaulFyfe, Roger Hammerstrom, Brian Blass, Allen Rohde, Tom Broich, Jeff Bohnen- kamp, Cheryl Phillips, Mark Peters, Jann Obman, Terry Orness, Randy Blessington, Steve McConnell, Don Pick. The year of transition certainly fit the Student Council this year. Some of the many changes that the Student Council participated in was the Snowball and the sponsoring of an Indian boy from Rock Point, Arizona through the American Indian Division of Virginia. This year the Snowball was an ice-skating party at Thirty Acres. Many snowmobiles were on hand to give the guests rides. A large portion of the ice was cleaned off for the skaters and refreshments were served in the shelter house. Steven Benally was the student's adopted son. The money saved from the Snowball went into the Child's fund for school. The Student Council purchased several red and black benches to be placed near the pop machine and a stereo tape system was placed in the lunchroom. Many students now go there to study. The Student Council sponsored two clean-up drives in the fall and in the spring. Several trash cans were painted and placed around the lake. 28 Jeff Bohnenkamp became a member of the State Cabinet and Cheryl Phillips secretary of the West Central District.
