AN ARNIVA The annual Band Carmval sponsored by the Band Boosters organ1zat1on was held Fr1day March 25 1955 A publ1c supper was held on March 19 and lt was through the sale of the t1ckets to th1s d1nner that the Carmval Queen was chosen The Jumor cand1date Darlene Geary was crowned Carn1val Queen by Loretta Hartman last year s Ca.rn1va1 Queen W1th Mrs B J Manly chalrman of the Queen Contest as master of ceremonles the cand1dates were 1ntroduced Semor Pat Gr1ff1n escorted by Eugene Seymour Jumor Darlene Geary escorted by James Bruner Sopho more G1or1a Seymour escorted by Jack Kolbe and Freshman Sue Gr1ff1n escorted by Joe Glosemeyer A grade school votmg chose June Kettermg to carry the crown and John Seymour to bear the g1ft for the queen H1ghl1ghts of the evenmg were found 1n the program whxch was presented 1n the h1gh school assembly The show featured amascullne style show a tumb11ng act smgmg walters and a German band As usual the younger set spent most of the1r t1me patron 1z1ng the fun house and the f1sh pond ww ' P Beauty Salon 5 f S'-xx Jflfpklk 0 M S1ng1ng Wa1ters X 4' . s O 'T3 ' . , . . UNIOR-SENIOR BAN ET we W0 3' The most glamorous n1ght of the l1fe of a hlgh school student was held Wednesday Aprll 20 1955 when the Junlor class feted the Senlor class wlth a banquet and prom Over The RHIHDOW was the theme chosen for the occas1on and the settlng and table appolntments carrled out the theme The guests passed through a passageway of brlghtly colored crepe paper and then entered RHIHDOW land The walls of the gym on three sldes were completely constructed of crepe paper 1n the seven colors of the rambow A huge rambow domlnated the stage where Don Shaw s orchestra played for the dance wh1ch followed the d1nner A large brldge rock garden and pool centered the floor and the tables wh1ch were arranged around the center were decorated w1th m1n1ature trelllses and bxrd baths The nut cups represented t1ny pots of gold and the place cards were small rambows The mothers of the Jun1ors prepared the sumptuous meal wh1ch was served by fourteen members of the Sophomore class Janet Tjaden Mary Jo Drllhng Barbara Smldt Elame Spanjer KarenSpurl1ng Arlene Purdy andGlor1a Seymour were waltresses and Jack Kolbe .hm Stock Jerry Irwm Dav1d Fmders Ejner Jacobsen Denms Bromley and Frank Wetzstem were the walters The meal cons1sted of orange cocktall potatoes corn sw1ss steak rellsh plate bxng cherry salad rolls and butter angel food cake dessert and coffee James Brtmer was master of ceremonles for the program followlng the d1nner The program l1sted the followmg numbers Welcome to Ra1nbowland by Dalton Mason Color Varlatlon Thank You by Eugene Seymour Over the Ralnbow by Mary Walters Contents of the Pot of Gold by M1ss Cason Dance of Colns by Walters and wa1treSses Rambows End by Mr D W Mcximley Deep Purple Muslcal number The Waltz by Frances Walter and N1ght W1ll Fall by Judy Kolbe ,pf 5 U' . ,D K V ' f., K' A M' 7 ' 'V f H W 1- .L I J , I ll ' ll ' ' .
