CLASS HISTORY The class of 1960 entered the portals of Lake V1ew H1gh School m September, 1955, wrth many ambrtxons and admrratxon for the care that our grammar school gave to us Our class was composed of 71 students from Unron, Fork, Kemper and Lake V1ew Class off1cers were Pres1dent, Sall1e Norton V1ce Presxdent, G W Page Secretary, Edna Bass Treasurer, B A Page and Reporter, Ellzabeth Anne Eaddy Our homeroom teachers were Mrs I H Eaddy and Mrs Maur1ce Prevatte Most of our t1me was spent learnlng where to go and be comlng accustomed to hlgh school By the t1me we had reached the 9th grade we were falrly well adj usted to the ways of hlgh school and most of our 8th grade fear had passed Our sponsors were Mrs MHLEICC Prevatte and Mrs Coleen A Howell Our class off1cers were PX'CS1dCHt, G W Page VICE Pres1dent, Brenda M1ller Secretary, Edna Bass Treasurer Ann Smxth and Reporter B A Page That year the F H A g1rls and F F A boys attended the state fan' 1n lumbxa RCCIPICHLS of the c1t1zensh1p medals were Sallre Norton and Larry Church Many of the boys and g1rls began to partlclpate 1n sports and other act1v1t1es When we entered the 10th grade, we reallzed that we were on the second step of the ladder that leads to grad uatlon Several members of the class were 1n1t1ated mto the Beta Club and attended the convent1on m Columbxa Class off1cers were Pres1dent, Sallxe Norton, V1ce Pres1dent Tucker Brxtt Secretary Brenda M1ller Treasurer Larry Church and Reporter Edna Bass Our homeroom teachers were Mrs Fanme Lou Stanley and Mr W1l11am Brxtt As we entered the Iumor Class 1t was wlth the reahzatxon that wlth one more step we would have reached the top of our ladder We began to thmk about our Junror Senror banquet and wxth the help of our sponsors Mr Van Bullock and Mr 11m Pxner we ralsed money by sel11ng magazlnes We really began to exper1ence a feelxng of prrde when we recexved our rmgs rn February Then there was the Iumor play wrth 1ts fun and exc1tement Throughout the year our class members partlcxpated 1n athlet1cs clubs, and band The Beta Club members agam attended the conventlon m Coltuanbra That year Jeanette Hayes won Natxonal recogmtxon by wmnlng a 4 H Club Health trxp to Chxcago, Ill1no1s The representatxves to Boys' State were I C Page and Larry Church The act1v1t1es were led by the class off1cers who were Pres1dent, Tucker Brrtt V1ce Pres1dent, Sherry Sanderson Secretary I C Page Treasurer janxce jones and Reporter, Larry Church And now, 1960 has arrxved and we are semors at last We have kept 50 members of our class slnce the grade Th1s year our off1cers are Pres1dent, MELTICC Moody, V1ce Pres1dent, M1r1am Smrth Secretary B A Page Treasurer, Brenda M1ller and Reporter, Sherry Sanderson Our class sponsors are Mr Van Bullock and Mrs Coleen A Howell We were proud of B A Page when he recelved a trophy as Best Lmesman of the team and George Graham when he recexved the Best Sportsman trophy at the Athletxc Banquet IH November We have worked d1l1gently for that bxg senror tr1p Larry Church IS our K1ng Teen and Sallxe Norton IS M1ss I-I1 Mxss JBDICC Jones was crowned homecommg queen and another semor Sherry Sanderson was an attendant Thrs year has been spent plannlng for that b1g event graduatlon We have ordered 1nv1tat1ons, cards, and measured for caps and gowns Our hopes and dreams of many years are commg true Soon we w1ll depart from the portals of th1s school leavmg behlnd many fr1ends and classmates and w1ll Journey out mto the world to start a new llfe of our own We w1ll always remember Lake Vzew Hxgh School, our fr1ends, teachers and our parents' patxence 1n under standmg us as we went through our many phases We salute Lake Vxew Hrgh and xts fac1l1t1es for makxng our dreams come true Class H1stor1an Jeanette Hayes J - : 1 ' ' ' S 5 . . 3 . ll I I I - . . . . . . 5 - - 5 ' 1 1 5 ,. . . , ...
