Ckss jfkfor Just as little children learning to walk, we as Freshmen were unsure of our first steps in high school. With the guidance of Mrs. Cain, Mr. Hansen, and Mr. Sheppard, we elected our class officers: Herb Mills, President: Judy Shreeves, Vice President: Ruth Ann Wallace, Secretary: and Jane White, Treasurer. Then we elected our Student Council Representatives: Carol Graeff, Sharon Parsons, and Ron Kallek, Now that we could stand on-our own feet, we wanted to hear the sound of money in our treasury, so we sponsored the last dance of the year, the biggest event of our Freshman year. By now we were quite sure of our steps and walked into our Sophomore year electing John Kravitz, President: Donna Brunn, Vice President: Jane White, Secretary: and John Smail, Treasurer. During our next class meeting we elected Carol Graeff, Ron Kallek, Kathy Parkin- son, and Jerry Taylor as our Student Council Representatives, with Miss Scott, Mrs. Snyder, Miss Schrotzberger, and Mr. Sheppard at our side. Also during this meeting we decided we were ready to try our feet in the field of dancing. This led to our Sophomore Christmas Dance in which we turned the auditorium into a world of Christmas trees, bells, and Santa Claus. We really had fun in preparing for this event which was very successful. Now we were ready for anything including our class rings, magazine drive, and the Junior- Senior picnic at Metropolitan Beach. One of our last events was our Junior play, Angel Street, under the direction of Miss Hertzmann. The Junior-Senior Prom, My Blue Heaven, was an event that will not soon be forgotten. Between our many other events, we elected John Smail, President: Jerry Taylor, Vice President: Jane White, Secretary: and Donna Brunn, Treas- urer: along with Barbara Stoetzer, Donna Wargo, Carol Graeff, Kathy Parkinson, and Jerry Tay- lor as Student Council Representatives. Without the wonderful help given us by Miss Schrotz- berger and Mr. Dehnke, none of this would have been possible. At last we were able to call ourselves Seniors. As in previous years, we elected Jerry Tay- lor, Rita Matthews, Jane White, and Donna Brunn to head our class. Donna Wargo, Sara San- talucia, Diane Edwards, and Jerry Taylor as Student Council Representatives. Now that we were sure of our footing, we stuck a foot in several different activities, including the selling of refreshments during football and basketball seasons, selling Christmas cards to help .raise money for our Senior trip, and publishing our yearbook. Along with the yearbook came our Senior pictures. Just when things seemed to get back to normal, the Senior Boy Scottt Carnival took over our spare time. As a result of the carnival, we had enough money to head for Washington, D. C. on our Senior Trip. Our trip was something we will never forget. Upon our return, we attended the last prom of our high school days. The Senior skip day and the Junior-Senior pic- nic were two days of fun that we enjoyed as the Class of '59, The days of fun and frolic sped by on the wings of Mercury, and Baccalaureate Sunday was upon us. This was followed by that famous night of humor and surprise - Class Night. Then our feet, ready at last to face the world, were heard in the corridors for the last time. Graduation night was here, the end and the beginning.
