MINUTE WCRKERS SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENTS Left to right: Margaret Edwards, Muthenuitics. Paul Fowler, Chemistry und Physics, .lumes M. Adams. Biology and General Science, Bion Clank, Algebra und General Science. CLOCK WATCH ERS SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS General Science is required of all students. Any of the three advanced sciences may be used for elective credit or for a major sequence. General Science is a course which attempts to instruct the pupil in the basic facts of his en- vironment. The course in Biology acquaints the pupil with knowledge of plant and animal life. Physics deals with matter and its physical changes. Chemistry is the study ol matter and the chemical changes which it undergoes. The fundamentals of the latter topics are taught in detail and math is essentially related to each, This field, math, although not all courses are required for graduation, is so important in such a large numher of skilled occupations and professions that its study is recommended for all. The clock watchers have an opportunity to participate in the classes of Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Algebra, Plane Geometry, Trigonometry, Solid Geometry and Pract- ical Mathematics. The Freshmen study diligently along the road into the unknowns of science while the upperclassmen with their superior knowledge seem to find it a relaxing course. This fact is strikingly demonstrated in the pictures at the left. 'II
