The Qulnault elected Donna Girls' State She attended Ellensburg. Community Circle Edgington as the representative. Girls' State at Sonja Becker was elected by her classmates to be Girl of the Month, sponsored by the Soroptimist Club. Seniors who held offices in the Student Council were: Daryl Olson, presidentg Karen Anderson, secretary, Eddie Dahl, vice-president: Val Furlong, treasurer. Class officers were: Dale Fishel, president: Sonja Becker, secretary, Val Furlong, treasurer. Three seniors, Donna, Val, and Karen were on the debate team. Participants in boys sports: Daryl, Eddie, Delmer, Dale, Billy, Harry. Karen Anderson would will her driving ability, but she takes it with her as she needs it. Donna Edgington wills her devilish attitude to Louise Sevey. Val Furlong leaves his shoes and a pair of oars on the North Shore road. Maxine Slimp wills her superb cheerleading ability to any amp bitious gal who wants it. Dale Fishel wills his ability to project a dramatic role to his brother Philip. Harry Crevlston leaves willing to depart. Joan and Oran Johnson represented us in the student council. Our class was active in sports this year. Leonard Aiken, Archie Boome, Aaron Brewer, Oran Johnson, Johnny Street, and Jim Young were on the football team. Bruce Brown was man- ager. Oran Johnson and Archie Boome were on the basketball HAH squad, while Johnny Street, Leonard Aiken, and Aaron Brewer were on the 'Bn squad. Jim Young and Bruce Brown were managers. Louise Sevey and Virginia Gravatt were on the girls basketball team. Joan Johnson was yell leader, and Louise Sevey was song queen. Participating in other activities were: Janet Furlong and Jim Young in band, Janet won first place trophy in the In- terpetative Reading contest at Grays Harbor College. Linda Caryle, Carol Murphy, Betty Davis, and Gay Binion were on the girls basketeall team. Although Coach Don Taylor's Elks played well at the District Tournament, they found themselves at a serious height disad- vantage in losing to Morton and Tenino. The season was highlighted with a Christmas Tournament at Ocosta and an overnight trip to Port Angeles. Players' letters were awarded to Billy, Eddie, Daryl, Delmer, Dale, Harry, Archie, Oran, and Jerry. Bruce Brown received a manager's letter. The team elected Daryl Olson for its Honor- ary Captain and Harry Creviston as the Most Improved Player for the year.
