Agriculture In attempting to meet the needs of our students in rapidly changing agri- cultural economy, the vocational agriculture department gave basic instruction to students who will be actively engaged in farming or related oc- cupations. Special Education Special education was added to our school this year. One of the mechan- ical aides used in the clas activities was the tape recorder. s's sg Physical Education Our physical education department offered a variety of sports. which included -basketball, football, tumbling, and volleyball. 'I'hese activities served to carry out the over-all purpose of the physical education program - to keep each stu dent physically fit.

Sociol Studies World history, American history, civics, and world geography made 'up the social studies department and gave students an insight to better citizenship. The band was a very im- portant part of our school Students received four years training in his band with emphasis on march- ing and playing. Perfor- mances throughout the year were highlighted by a Christmas concert and a trip to Louisiana Tech. f 4-we .n , Industriol Arts A new building was add- ed this year in order to better educate these stu- dents taking Industrial Arts I and Il. Mr. Thayer Mc- Coy, instructor, strived to equip those students interested in drafting and working with wood, metal. and leather with a good understanding of these trades
