Sophomore Class Crystal Barcklay Michelle Bradwisch Jay Carlson Joanne Greenhaw Greg Hesby Dan Holm Jeff Iverson Cheri Janssen Darin Johnson Rick Longville. Moving up to the Sophomore level, the Class of ’84 was even more noticeable in the halls of LPHS this year. This was partly because the class grew in numbers also. Joanne Green- haw came from Minnesota last year, and Dan Holm returned from California at the beginning of this year. Darin Johnson arrived early in the year as well. No longer despised little freshmen, they began to take a larger part in the life of LPHS. The Sophomores were active in sports beginning right away in the fall. Cheri Janssen continued her inprovement in bas- ketball and was a varsity starter all season. Eight of the boys saw some football action. Greg Hesby started several games at quarterback until a broken arm ended his season prema- turely. Jeff, Dan and Rick played a lot in the line, while Mike and Paul at ends and Jay in the backfield were also key performers. 12

The girls continued to be a major factor in girls athletics, while Todd Carlson and Curt Vir- chow wrestled; Todd Brown, Todd Carlson, Rick Holland and Emil Larson played football; and Charlie Johnson played basket- ball. FFA, FHA, band, chorus, annual, Blue Gold, and dramatics also were areas of activity pursued by the Class of ’85. The rest of LPHS had better look out as we return next year as sophomores, determined to be the CLASS of LPHS. 14
