Dedication We, the annual staff of 1973, dedicate this annual to the memory of Sharon Holm Johnson who holds a very special place in our hearts. Sharon was a beautiful person in spirit, mind, and heart; always friendly, good-natured, cooperative and willing to help others. As youth, we had much to learn from Sharon. Her eveready concern and interest for the younger generation led us to respect, trust, and admire her. Though she has gone, she left each of us with the incentive to live our lives to the fullest, set our goals to improve ourselves and give service to others. Sharon, who was a 1960 graduate of LPHS, will long be remembered for her community interest. She worked hard operating a beauty salon for several years. Yet, she found time to spend endless hours coaching the Lake Preston girls softball teams. Sharon’s untimely death occurred on August 21, 1972, at the age of 29, as a result of a car-train accident. She left her husband, Dennis, and her four children: Allen - 10, Crystal - 8, Danny - 7, and Tricia - 1. Sharon, you went first and we remain For the battles to be fought, Each thing you've touched along the way Will be a hallowed spot. We'll hear your voice, we'll see your smile, Though blindly we may grope, The memory of your helping hand Will buoy us on with hope.
