Homecoming Is A Happening for LPHS Students O ur float has to win , and We just have to beat Howard , were two very common expressions heard during this year's exciting Homecoming week. The eagerness and ecstacy began to grow at the beginning of the week with everyone working on their floats. Coronation was again very beautiful. This year's attendants were: Freshman, Paul Casper and Joyce Smith; Sophomores, ReedHauck and Renee Steffensen; Juniors, Doug Sal- ter and Jean Vedvei; and Senior attendants were John Anderson, Jim John- son, Mike Olson, Becky Sass, Janelle Nelson, and Judy Jensen. After the crowning of Queen Debi and King Klark, the high school marching band led the people down to the park for the burning of the H . The cheerlead- ers led the chain of screaming, excited kids up to Main Street where they had a mass peo rally in the middle of the business section. The parade and the game were the activities of the next day. The winning floats were: Most Humorous, Sophomore; Most Original, Senior; and Most Beautiful, FHA. The themes of the floats were centered around commercials. Even though the Howard Tigers were victorious, the enthusiasm didn't die out at the dance following the game. Pandora's Box provided the music. Home- coming is made possible with the help of people. It really is a peoples world! Honoring the royalty, Mr. Mannes sang The Way You Look Tonight.
