Swenson, L Joanne Hasche, Janel Nelson, The 1971 Prestonian Lake Preston High School Lake Preston, South Dakota The annual staff of 1971 wishes to dedicate the Prestonian to the teacher with the flashiest ties, the biggest tease, and whose nickname is Squash. Mr. Fumey teaches biology, chemistry, and phys- ics along with being senior class advisor. Also in the science department, he has lent his assist- ance to the entire student body with projects and experiments. But most important to us is his relationship with the students, his understanding and his dedication to the school. And, so, in this way of dedication, we want to say a big thank-you to Mr. Furney. Dedication Ride 'em, boys, ride 'em!1. Miss Bueber, that's no way to catch a fellow! ! BACK ROW: Asst. The building of floats, the crowning of Queen Rhonda and King Mike, the pep fest, burning of the H and the snake dance all contributed to the spirit that was to be let out at the game against the Howard Tigers. Even though the Divers were defeated it was evident at the dance following the game that the spirit of the night wasn't. The Outer Limits supplied the music. Senior Attendants Homecoming Festivities Rip it up, tear it up! Most Beautiful—NHS n Most Humorous--Senior Class King Mike and Queen Rhonda Reign for a Day The annual excitement and enthusiasm of homecoming was again gained this year through the activities of working on floats, buring of the H, snake dance, show, parade, and finally the big game. By a cooperative approach to the salutatory and valedictory speeches, Debbie, Rhonda and Sandi stressed the importance of the simple meaning of life. On graduation morning, the senior girls attended a brunch sponsored by Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Swenson at the Swenson home. On May 7, the Juniors accomplished The Impossible Dream. They presented to the Seniors of 1971 a patriotic prom. After slaving over hot stoves all day the Junior mother prepared an all-American meal which was enjoyed by the Juniors, Seniors, faculty and class mothers at the banquet. Later on that evening The Raven flew in to provide the entertainment for the dance. There's A Girl In My Soup was the special feature for this special event. A breakfast, held in the auditorium, soon followed for all those Juniors and Seniors who were still wide awake enough to come. Even though the energetic Juniors then tore down the remains of the prom it's memories will still linger on. Class of ’72 Makes Prom Preparations To make their prom different the Juniors combined the old form of patriotism with the new and modern. The highlights were a peace symbol hanging from the ceiling, a flag, Uncle Sam hats as punch bowls and the peace sign with two doves surrounding it. To finish the effect they used red lights to give it a soft touch. Seeing It How It Is 'Home Warne strikes again Sweet and innocent!?
