LPHS's German teacher, Mrs. Janet Auch, attended the University of South Dakota be- fore she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from South Dakota State University. She teaches American history,world history, sociology, and German I and II. She ad- vises the Blue and Gold, declam, all school play, and the senior class. This is her first year of teaching at LPHS. General math which has been offered as a new subject this year along with vocational agriculture is taught by Mr. Gary Gudahl. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from South Dakota State Uni- versity. Mr. Gudahl also attended Wisconsin State University at River Falls, Wisconsin. Gudahl advises FFA and the freshmen class. For the past five years he has been an in- structor at LPHS. Mrs. Charlyse Cade received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Huron College. She teaches vocal music for grades one through eight, girls glee, mixed chorus, and English I. Vocal music activities such as girls triple trio and mixed octet also keep Mrs. Cade busy. This is her second year of teaching. For the past year Mr. George Runyan has been the instrumental music instructor and band director. He has contributed greatly to the development of marching, A and B band. Mr. Runyan graduated from the Uni- versity of South Dakota after attending Augustana College and now has his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Music Education degree. 7

Home Economics I, II, III and general sci- ence are taught by Mrs. LaDonna Micko. Being advisor to the junior class, FHA, and cheerleaders, she is kept very busy. As a graduate of South Dakota State University Mrs. Micko has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. This is her first year of teaching at LPHS. Mr. Wilton Cade teaches Typing I and II, shorthand, bookkeeping, and business ma- chines in the LPHS system. He advises the freshmen class and the annual staff. Mr. Cade attended General Beadle, South Dakota State University, and San Jose College, California to receive his Bachelor of Sci- ence in education, economics, and manage- ment . Mr. Daniel Auch has attended Yankton Col- lege, the University of South Dakota, and received his degree from Southern State College. He has been the librarian at LPHS for two years. Along with teaching remedial reading, he is also the advisor of the junior class. Mr. Auch is doing graduate work at South Dakota State Uni- versity. The senior advisor and assistant basketball coach is Mr. Ray Boetel. He teaches Algebra I, II, geometry, and senior math. He graduated from the University of South Dakota and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He has taught at Lake Preston two years. 6

The bus drivers have the re- sponsibility of transporting the farm students to school. They are left to right:Charles Lacy, Rev. Richard Stierlen, M.R.Munson, Vila Gates. Employees perform behind-the-scene tasks With Carl Swanson, Rose Adams, Mae Thompson, and Conrad El- vik as the school custodians, the classrooms and halls are kept neat and clean during the school year. During the noon break every day, the student body will find a delicious meal waiting for them.
