After attending South Dakota State University and graduating from Black Hills State College, Mr. Michael Schroeder teach- es biology, chemistry, and physics. He has received a BS in science and a BS in educa- tion. The new sport of wrestling at Lake Preston is headed by Mr. Schroeder. He is also the assistant coach for football and track. In his second year of teaching at LPHS, Mr. Schroeder is the freshmen class advisor. Faculty Having attended the University of South Dakota and completing his graduate work at Northern State Teachers College, Mr. James Weaver obtained his Bachelor of Science de- gree. He has been in our school system for two years teaching American History, govern- ment, and psychology. He is the advisor of the National Honor Society, the junior class and during the summer months Mr. Weaver teaches the Drivers Education course. As a teacher in the school system for the past two years, Mrs. Wendell Morrill teaches Home Economics I, II, III, and eighth grade homemaking. She is the advisor for the Future Homemakers of America and junior class. Having her Bachelor of Sci- ence degree, she graduated from South Da- kota State University. 5

The superintendent of the school, Mr. Merlyn Krenz, graduated from South Dakota State University, where he received his Ba- chelor of Science and Master of Education degree. Mr. Krenz taught here as a math teacher from 1959-1964, and in 1966 he came back as superintendent of LPHS. He has been in the administration for two years now. Mr. Krenz also teaches plane geometry and advises the Student Council. Board of Education Administration Left to right: Mrs. James Kopperud Mrs. Wendell Nelson Mr. Donald Falla Mr. Robert Hauck Mr. Glenn Green Mr. Verle Pike Graduating from South Dakota State University, Mr. Gary Gudahl received his Bachelor of Science degree. Having been in the Lake Preston school system for the past four years, he teaches vocational ag- riculture and general science. Mr. Gudahl is the advisor of the senior class, Future Farmers of America, and was principal for the 1967-68 school term® Mrs. Delbert Olson, secretary to Mr. Krenz, was first secretary for V.W. Madsen for two years. For the next eight years she served Mr.Len Aman. Mrs. Olson is now in her second year of secretarial work for Mr. Krenz.

Mr. Henry Lenards attended Northern State Teachers College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He teaches elementary and high school physical educa- tion and World History. Having taught at Lake Preston for the past two years, Mr. Lenards is head coach for football,basket- ball, track, fifth-sixth grade basketball, and grade track. In his first year of teaching at LPHS, Mr. Ray Boetel teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, and senior math. Mr. Boetel graduated from the University of South Dakota receiv- ing his Bachelor of Science degree. He serves as the assistant basketball coach, junior high basketball coach, and the freshmen class advisor. Graduating from Huron College,Mr. Tom Fritts received his Bachelors degree. Al- though this is his first year at Lake Preston, he is kept busy with teaching English II, III, and IV. Declam, drama, and debate, which is a new activity he de- veloped this year,occupies his spare time. He is advisor of the Blue and Gold and sophomore class. During the first nine weeks, German I was taught by Mrs. Leora Holdridge. For most of the remainder of the year, Mr. Charles Chamberlain taught the class. 6
