Class of ’55 Freshman History In September of 1951, 25 freshmen enrolled. Mrs. Thomsen was selected as class mother and Mr. Palmer as advisor. Jackie and Darwin were candidates for Carnival Queen and King. Helen S. was candidate for Homecoming Queen. Initiation, prepared by the seniors, highlighted the year’s activities. That year the basketball team won con- solations at the Regional tournament and Champion- ship at the District. The class party was held in the gym and the all-school picnic at Kampeska featured roller skating and a movie. Neil competed in the Regional contest with his humorous declam selec- tion. Kampeska was the place for the all-school picnic.
