ClaAA HiA tcrif In the Tall of 19 UV uwenty-ei ht preen, but anxious freshman entered Lake- Preston hiph school. The first hirhlivht was our initiation. The r-irls wore denim work shirts and shorts with preen ruffles sewed on the bot- tom. The.boys wore ladies' ni-htpowns and a nylon stockin' for a nirhfc cap. Roth v?ore onions sround their necks, one four-buckle ove shoe, and one hiph heel. Mr. 0+ ;n3on was chosen class advisor anci ”rs. La Verna -'illians olass - Sher. Our carnival candidates were Darlene p’ieli and Darwin Johnson ''eharell ''nde'son was our Homeconin - candidate. ,frs. Williams entertained the class at a party at her home dur'nr the year. Roth Robert '-'aldo and Don aid Obcrlander left us lurin' the year. The year was closed by a vicnic at Lake Tiamoeska. Two failed to return at the bcp'nninp of our soohonore year, Shirlee Bu mann and Curtis Severson. ’’e chose Mias Van Steenwyk as class advisor and Mrs. Kenneth Hesby class mother. Our candidates Dick Williams and Darlene Abel were crowned carnival royalty. Marlene Holland was our Homecominp can- didate. Our float rreat nays won first prise in the parade. Durinp the year our class sponsored a Sadie Hawkins' Day party, were iven a party by our class mother at her home and ave a party for Jacque Moyer who left. The year was closed by a nicnic at Lake kampeska. Twenty-two earer juniors reported for school the next year, Yvonne Mer- rick and Ruth Nelson did not return. Miss 'chlobohm was chosen class advi- sor and Mrs. Steve Karban class mother. Our candidates Lavonne. Steenson and Arden 3erlow were crowned carnival royalty. Helen Hesby was our Homecominf candidate. V'e received our class rin s in November. In MSrch of this year Eunice Jl ben joined us from Hurley. Our nlay My Wife's ™emily was pre- sented with '-reat success. Our bancuet was held in April with Hitch Your Wepon to a Star as our theme. The Collegiatos clayed for our prom. La- vonne Steenson reoresented us at Girls' State and esley Jones at Boys' State. The year was drawn to a close by a nicnic at Lake Kampeska. Twenty-two seniors returned for the final year. Arden Barlow failed to return. ',Te chose Mr. Melemseter as class advisor and Mrs. ceor e Larson class mother. Our carnival candidates were Eunice Jlbben and Billy Gunder- son. Marl vs Larson was our Home'rimin' , candidate. Dick Williams was elected Homecominp Marshall. Darlene Field left shortly after the beginning of the year. Margaret Maxam was elected D.A.R. candidate from our class. Some hiphliphts bhc year were Senior Pheasant Peed and show afterward in Rrookinps; Annual; Class play Here Come the rridcs ; College Day at Brook- inps; and Skip Day. We are all deeply prateful for hnvinp had the nrivilepe and opportunity of attendinr Lake Preston hiph school. We feel that the education we have received will help us to be ever mindful of our motto, In ourselves the fu- ture lies.
