Homecoming In keeping with the current Western trend, Lakers picked a theme of “After the Gold Rush and plunged right into Homecoming the third week of school, one of the earliest homecomings on rec- ord By planning homecoming early, Lakers hoped to take advantage of the nice Sep- tember weather and avoid the November rains. The plan nearly backfired as it rained early in the week, but it did clear off for the parade Friday afternoon. Sidelined from football with an injury, Gary Morean turned his talents toward becoming Master of Ceremonies. He per- formed many wonderful feats with his trusty horse, Bessie TOP: The Golddiggers, Trista Waarvick, Stacie Dodd, Ann Swearingen, and Marge Handy, enter- tain at the assembly.
