The band has been in the process of reorganization most of the year. We now have a Junior Band, Senior Band, 'Hungry F1ve', 'Thirsty Seven', an all purpose organizathmy and the dance orchestra. Our Senior Band now 1s much smaller than it should be. We should have many of the students in the upper four grades who have the ability to play and who have played be- fore. The Senior Band attended the District Band and Orchestra Festival at Grand Rapids on March 24. The main comment was that we played very well for the youthfulnele of many of the players. In the fall when Mr. Haigh was here the band went on a hike and picnic. lP.HlxQl left immediately after the fall concert in October and Joined the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. lr. Abbott came October 25. The band played for most of the home basketball games, and in December, played a short concert at a meeting of the H-46 Boosters Club. In January the band and glee club put on a Joint concert featuring the newly organ- ized boy's glee club. The band s final concert will be the latter part of April. Next year we hope to have a bigger and better band. If enough of the old mem- bers return we intend to play and march at the football games next fall.
