On September 7, 1955, we started our final year as seniors -- that most magic year of all! The class elected Larry Case, President and Judy Searfoss, Vice President. April 22, 1955, the junior class presented Beauty and the Beef, directed by Mr. Calvin Kanyuck. This delightful three -act comedy was pronounced a great success. June 10, the most magic night of all -- for the Junior-Senior Prom was held. For a month before, decorations were prepared in expectation of a wonderful dance, To carry out the theme of Blossom Time, boxes of roses were made, streamers draped, evergreen twined, and lanterns hung. A net of balloons released its contents on the dancing couples half-way through the even- ing. This dance, attended by a record crowd was a huge success. With Ann Lee Engelrnan and Emilie Schenck in charge, the senior class sold Christmas cards as a project to raise money. The Christmas candy sales were handled by Patty Cornell. Both sales proved very successful and a profit to the treasury. VV!! 2 X L. October 19, it was announced that the editors of the 1956 yearbook were James McCaffrey and Carlene Kocher, the business managers, Leon Whitesell and Jeanette Ide. As a result the class began to plan the new edition of The Chieftain, A kickoff for the sales campaign was held in an assembly program, This yearbook should be one of the best ever published at Lake -Noxen High School. This is the way I see it. November 18, 1955, the senior class presented The Skeleton Walks, an action packed mystery -comedy, directed by Mr. John Zaleskas. This play catered to a large and well-pleased audience due to a fine presentation by an outstanding cast.
