April 22, 1955, the junior class presented Beauty and the Beef, directed by Mr. Calvin Kanyuck. This delightful three -act comedy was pronounced a great success. June 10, the most magic night of all -- for the Junior-Senior Prom was held. For a month before, decorations were prepared in expectation of a wonderful dance, To carry out the theme of Blossom Time, boxes of roses were made, streamers draped, evergreen twined, and lanterns hung. A net of balloons released its contents on the dancing couples half-way through the even- ing. This dance, attended by a record crowd was a huge success. Spring is always a busy time for an active classg the annual band concert, spring dances, and May Day. May Day, 1954, took as its theme Down Through the Ages. Many of the sophomores that took part remember the Charleston. ln May, I ack Taylor, who was President of the sophomore class was nominated to run for President 4 of the Student Council. After a vigorous campaign and with the support of the class, Jack was elected. Oh, you kid! QQ?- '-Z Tw ,Ji- - I V fr -PM S V J 7 f i llx N A class party and a hay ride were held on November 8. After a ten mile ride in a hay-filled wagon, everyone gathered at the school for a wlener roast, All were very disappointed that Louise Womer, Evaline King, and Leonard Wallace left school before completing their junior year, L4 In a busy athletic season the girls' basketball it the YMCA Novice Wrestling Tournament. x -5'.-?.-4k- -L n 1 6 2 S ' N During the second semester the school welcomed a new music teacher, Mr. Henderick Marr. Under his direction the band and chorus presented their annual spring concert with several junior students participating. Everyone was proud of the head majorette, Carlene Kocher, and the record she has achieved, team was victorious. Five junior girls received their letters and gold basketballs. On September 7, 1955, we started our final year as seniors -- that most magic year of all! The class elected Larry Case, President and Judy Searfoss, Vice President. Patty Comell, Ann if Lee Engelman, and Audrey Carpenter were in charge of candy sales, and Bernard Dendler, Paul Keiper, and David Hopfer were in charge of the Coke machine. 11'-.ai-P . , ' f , 4: I -.
