The honoree of The i967 WildcaT has endeared himself To a generaTion of school children. From elemenTary Through high school, his name is legend, and his deeds are innumerable. To lisT his accomplishmenTs is To Tell The sTory of The growTh of The Richardson area, including Lake High- lands, from a Tiny hamleT To a busTling meTropolis, wiTh The schools keep- ing pace. Dallas ciTizens, public and privaTe, sing his praises. His church finds him a faiThful sTeward. His communiTy and iTs many civic endeavors are proud of his efforTs in Their behalf. The news media have honored him, in edi- Torial and in plaque. LasT Fall, more Than lOOO educaTors, parenTs, sTudenTs, and personal friends sTaged The biggesT surprise parTy of his TwenTy years in Richard- son, To applaud him publicly for whaT he has done. Many of his peers have honored him wiTh more elaboraTe gifTs and awards Than we can enumeraTe. But today that is no longer true because LH has become a growing part of metropolitan Dallas Our students are members of the Dallas Teenage Council, the Texas Board of Film Review Council the Theatre Center, Opera Debs, and other Dallas-centered civic activities. To capture the life of our school effectively, you would almost certainly have to include some scenes around Dallas This year the annual staff and I have tried to get the pictorial history of Lake Highlands.
