The 1970 Flyer Football team had a very challenging year. The Flyers were potentially a championship team, but the stiff com etiti f th N h ' ' ' p on 0 e ort ern Lakes League left the Flyers with a 4-5 season. The first disappointment came with the season opener against Rossford. On September 11 the Flyers retumed to the locker room defeated 0-12. The determination to make a comeback was yet to be proven in the games to follow. The Flyers defeated the Swanton Bulldogs 21-15. They continued with a one game winning streak, beating the Anthony Wayne Generals 19-7 and shutting out the Eastwood Eagles 4-1-0 on Homecoming night . . . From this time on the Flyers were only able to ain enou h mo t b h , g g men um to eat t e Elmwood Royals 1 30-0, after dropping games to Springfield, Maumee, Perrysburg, and the final game, Genoa.
