| am a flyer—the symbol of Lake Schools. | am the students going from class to class, cheering at the games, and the boys on the field trying to do their best. | also stand for the teachers and citizens of the community. | am supported and guided by the par- ents and business concerns of the community from which comes the School Board, a small influential group, taking special interests in the school's func- tions. | am not only the tangible, the building and its in- habitants, but also the spirit of the school, friendly teasing, good-natured grumbling, the soft word, and the loud yell — but reflections of my mood — ever changing like the surface of the sea, but con- stant in the depths of devotion. | am Lake Schools. The concert and marching band provided music for my enjoyment. My homecoming was made a memorable event by twelve lovely young ladies and twelve equally handsome escorts taking part in the afternoon crowning cere- monies. The evening activity was highlighted by a parade around the football field. Treasuries of my many clubs received a boost and my school year and social life was made more enjoyable by sock-hops held after athletic events. Football victories made both the players and me delight.
