If we reflect upon our school years, we will find the rivalry, the disappointment, the success —the whole host of human experience. All of this, of course, has prepared us to accept and retain the basic principles upon which our culture is founded. Yet, with us remains some unfinished business — the hard fight to bring deserved dignity, respect, and worth to the individual designed to live in a rapidly changing society. We, indeed, are thankful for those many hands that have helped and guided us along the never- ending path to maturity. Our path does not end on June 25th of this year, but, instead, only widens to form a road; a road where all of our helping hands and guiding lights suddenly be- come scarce. We will travel the road, each by his own path, each seeking his profession, solv- ing his problems, and finding his happiness. Our road will never end, for it not only repre- sents our search, but also our opportunity. Thus, we are far more fortunate than others, for that opportunity lies directly at our fingertips —we need only to reach out, capture it, nourish it, and watch it grow in our very palms. Through our high school days we have been taught, guided, encouraged, and sheltered. Look- ing back, we cherish each moment. But, we are also eager to step outside, to meet the cross- roads, to find our road and travel it. So, as we look expectantly toward the future, we dedicate the ’65 Georgian, our past and our development, to the fitness of a motto — When duty whispers low thou must’, the youth replies ’I can’.” 7ci 6fe. oÂŁ 0%( minis ration S acu iy School Staff Cj ementary Junior Jhiyh Senior Jfiy i This attractive and informative book presents a vivid story of Lake George Central School and its varied programs. You have many choices, but remember: your High School diploma is not a one-way ticket to success. It's only an indication that you have learned the basic skills re- quired to function in our highly complex society. Don't sit back and expect to reap the re- ward of your years of hard work. Society isn't built that way. There is no such thing as a sure thing . You must take advan- tage of available opportunities and continue to grow and learn if you expect to better yourself and succeed. Success is predicated on self determination and personal initia- tive — not past accomplishments or diplomas. The future is up to you — so make your choice a true commencement !
