Judy Corbett, Joan Gallagher, Judy Aiston, Frances Cox, and Carol Stiehl took solo parts in the Christmas oratorio,Handel's Messiah. Students were greeted each morning by strains of music from the third floor as the orchestra rehearsed for its many programs throughout the year. During the Thanksgiving holiday students traveled to Champaign to play in the all-state orchestra and band, or to sing in the chorus. SECOND ROW: Rita Belcher, Mary Lou Bubb, Marlyn Miller, Nancy Young, Judy Corbett,Janis Hochhalter, Darlene Rash, Sue Hilker, The Battle Hymn of the Republic was the featured number of the band and chorus at the annual Spring Concert on March 20. Judy LaHue, accompanied by the orchestra, presented the first movement of C1rieg's Piano Concerto. Another major project was the oper- etta, No, No, Nanette, directed by Mr. Joseph Wagner.
