In working with this book, those involved have attempted to exercise one of the rnost significant abilities which man possesses. We have suffered an expansion of the imagination. As we worked through the year. we felt that if the book were to achieve the value we wished for it, it must be more than a yearbook, a record of activities. If a wind fresh vision could be given to those familiar with the life of this college community, and if we were able to present a portion of that intense struggle and joy which composes learning, then we would have accomplished our purpose. Our tools were photography, literature, and art, our result, an expansion of the meaning which is an integral part of our lives, can only be completed by you. The nzatter of the book is men and women- people in a unique circumstance: that circumstance being the life within a college. Whenever a group of people discover a goal which is higher than themselves, it is inevitable that the result is a dynamic world of growth, when these people have assembled for the expressed purpose of education, their strength for life quickens as the challenge of thought and expression is accepted. We have sought each individual against the fall, ufinter. and spring backdrop, in the drama as he accepts the challenge offered lzim. and ive have presented the result. Our work was done with the lzope that you will safer an expansion of the imagination. -5-
