Prologue Eight semesters ago the class of 1954 entered the gates of Lake Forest College for the first time as college students. Four short years later they are about to go out through the same gates, confident that they are better prepared to face the future due to a Christian training and guidance on the college level. Since those first crowded days of the freshman year, filled with frenzied studying and hectic activities, everyone has acquired a storehouse of memories. Many of these recollections impress us, others arouse a chuckle, some will happily be forgotten. The FORESTER of 1954, acting as a diary, attempts to chronicle a few of them. As we go through life, we will become aware in an ever increasing capacity how our hands guide, facilitate, and accomplish many complicated taslcs. But as we loolc baclc on our days at college, we should remember that Lake Forest has taught us in the use of them, at work and at play. With this idea in mind the editor proudly gives you the FORESTER of 1954. Robert H. Leishman Editor
