Miss Klinlt came to Lalce Forest in September 1944. A resident ot Bucyrus, Qhio, she obtained her BA degree from l-leidelberg College. She earned her MA at Syracuse University and has done additional graduate worlc at Northwestern. Before coming to l.al4e Forest she was a member ol the Dean ot Womens Stalt at Kent State Uni- versity, Junior Dean at Arizona State College, Director oi Womenxs Activities in the USC, Madison, Wisconsin, and Co-ordinator oi USO Activities, Denver, Colorado. Miss lflinlc came to our campus when the present graduating class was entering its First year, Qver this period ol time she has watched not only the lreshmen oi '44 mature but the college as a whole. For this reason we feel her views are representa- tive oi those held by the senior class. Hihose ol us who have had the rare privilege ol sharing these four stimulating, challenging years at l.alce Forest have been part oi a college which has grown in every way. It seems to me that tar more wonderful and thrilling than this has been the growth of the students within themselves. 4

MCMA NE of the main advantages of a small college is that it provides a close association between students and faculty members. At l.alce Forest this is not merely an ideal but an actuality, Students are more than names and faculty mem- bers are more than professors, they are per- sonalities, Primarily, of course, our faculty act as edu- cators and advisers, but they also talce an active part in campus life. Both in and out of class, during office hours or on their free time, pro- fessors are willing to discuss problems ranging from class changes to World affairs. They are enthusiastic supporters., of our athletic teams. They chaperon our parties and join in the fun. Qnce a year they sell their services at the WSSF auction and cheerfully carry out their assigned jobs, which range from Window washing to Ii tennis lessons. The hospitality of homes in faculty circle is frequently extended to students. Each organized group on campus is sponsored by one or more faculty members. Basically, our faculty is the heart of the col- lege, for no educational institution can be better than its faculty. lhey strive voliantly to avvalcen us intellectually and to sharpen our awareness of the world in which we live. Cn the next pages are pictured this year's faculty members, but this is not the way in which students will remember them. They will more lilcely recall those Coffee Shop discussions, or the blue boolc analysis that developed into a bull session, or certain idiosyncrasies of some of the profs , but, more important, they will remember an idea or a thought received which made life richer.
