MARlE I. MELGY Miss Marie I. Meloy is Registrar and Secretary of the Faculty. Miss Meloy received the Bachelor ct Arts degree from lvlontaouth College, and did further work at the University cf Wisconsin and Columbia University. Before coming to Lal-ze Forest College in nineteen-hundred and twenty-seven, Miss Meloy did institutional social work and teaching in Michigan, and clerical and secretarial work in Chicago. Previous to her present positions, she has served at Lake Forest College as Secretary in the Presidents Office, and Secretary to the President. WARREN S. HALL Mr. Warren S. Hall became Business Manager cz the college in nineteen-hundred and thirty. Mr, Hall received the Bach-elcr of Science degree from Franklin College, and took graduate work in Commerce at the University cf Yxiisconsin, Northwestern University and the 'i'lJl.C.A. Sch:-ol of Commerce in Chicago. Befcre coming to Lake Forest Ccliege Mr. Hall was Accountant, Auditor, and li-Jlanager of Properties fcr Grafton lohnson of Greenwood, lndiana: Sergeant Mater and Lieutenant in the Infantry during the Wlorld War: Instructor, General Service Manager, and Director ci Budget and Statistical Division at La Salle Extension University cf Chicago, Director of Statisti- cal Research at Mandel Brcth- ers, Chicagc. lxfr. Hall is a member of the Preskyterian Church, Phi Delta fheta, the Chicago Chapter of the American Statistical Asso- ciation, the University Club oi Evanston, and the Executives' Club ci Chicago, RALPH L. He received the Bachelor ci Arts degree from Lalze Fcrest College, mafring in Economics and Physics. He attended the liirthwestern Cc-aching School in the summer after graduation. GILBERT A. IOI-INSON Mr. Gilbert A. Iohnson is Assistant Director of Athletics. Mr. Iohnson has the Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern Uni- versity, and is at present engaged in working on the Masters' degree at the same institution. Before coming to Lake Forest College in nineteen-hundred and thirty-four, Mr. lohnson had been athletic director of Farilg-ault I-Iigh School for three years, As well as coaching Freshman Football and Basketball and managing classes in Physical Education for Men, Mr. Iohnson has charge of the Intramural Athletics program of the college. RICHARD WIDMARK Mr. Richard W'idmark is Assistant Director of Speech. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College in nineteen- hundred and thirty-six. lvir. Widmark had ari oustanding college career, having leading roles in many Garrick plays, a member of the debate team for four years, placing third in the State Peace Oratorical Contest, as well as earning his varsity letter in tootlzall, being a rnemliier of Iron Key, and President of the Senior Class. DONALD DEAN PARKER Doctor Donald Dean Parker is Librarian ci the college. A proriui of Illinois schools, Doctor Parker received the Bachelors degree from Park College in Missouri, the Masters degree for work done in Sociology at the University of Chicago and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from the same institution. I-Ie also attended the University ot Illinois for a summer, and the University ct Strasbourg, France, for a year. Doctor Parker has traveled extensively in more than a score of countries. For ten years he lived aloroad: in China, the Philippines, and in Europe. For two years he was Librarian and Instructor cf English in Shantung Christian University in North China. Atter a year of travel and study in Europe, and three years of study in this country, Doctor Parker went to the Philippines under the Bureau of Education. After a year in the Provinces, he went to Manila as Principal of the Untion I-ligh School, a position he held for five years. This was followed by a year and a halt of study at the University of Chicago Where he was a Fellow. Doctor Parker carne directly from the University to Lake Forest College in September, nineteen-hundred and thirty-si:-r.
