President of Lake Forest College since 1920. AN APPRECIATION In 1920 Lake Forest was undergoing a trying period of transition. Reconstruction and reorganization were necessary and a competent leader was imperative. It was at this time that Dr. Moore came to Lake Forest to assume the presidency. During his five years of administra- tion there has been a steady and pronounced growth, a broadening of the inner life of the college and a reaching out for those things that make a better and fuller college life. He has given encouragement to every progressive movement and his deep love for Alma Mater has been expressed in his stimulating addresses to student gatherings. There is a certain sense of security about the life at Lake Forest. a security that can be directly attributed to the calm judgement and practical wisdom of our president. rm
