We do not term our scholars as egg heads, but more appropriately as proud and industrious falcons. Both have put a lot of time and effort into competing in U.I.L. , and are in the speech club, as well as on the journalism staff. Brainy birds . . . Johnny Jeffrey, a Virgo, is nicknamed Poindexter . He enjoys collecting junk. When he finishes school here , he plans to attend college and become a teacher. Elaine Messick, a Libra, has two nicknames: Laney and Skeeter. She likes to read and write. David Walker, under the sign of Virgo, likes building models in his spare time . Although just a freshman, he played on the varsity basketball team and has a bright future in the area of sports. He proposes to go to college when he finishes with school here . Diane Volts, Sagittarius, has the pet name of Muscles. She participates in tennis, basketball, and track. She is very artistically inclined. Her so hopes are to go to college and become a commercial artist.

Both enjoy goofing around and getting into mischief, but there are times also for seriousness, and they adapt. Birds with vitality plus . . . Danny Baird, a Gemini, says two of his favorite hobbies are participating in sports and Waterskiing . Ada Jane Lee, Libra- born, has the nickname Spaz to call her own.
