There were fifty-six members in the class. Gene Ros- endahl was elected as our class president and Jean Carlson, our cheerleader, to represent us in high school. The class took an active part in school activities with talent frequent ly-in use. The following year.f1txy members returned to the sophomore class. The class lost some of its members to the armed services and was represented there as well as in all school activities. Gene Rosendahl was elected president again, and his popularity brought honor to him and to the class.: The Junior class of 19155-146 started with forty-eight members. This was a happy and busy year for the Juniors. The boys were busy winning four trophies in basketball, while the girls were busy starting girls' basketball. The Junior-Senior Prom was also a long-re- membered event for the Juniors. The following fall this group started their last school year at Lake City High School. We had a total of fifty-one members which shows that we had some ex-service men among us. Some of these graduated at the end of the first semester. This last year was a very busy one for the seniors. We seniors of 1946 and 1947 have had good times in high school and we're proud to say that we graduated from Lake City High School. qi jehfzq 5 My N f - X f K. 4 ' , ' 'C' Mv 'iJ 4 I 4 X . ff' 5 j ff Q, sy ,,, A JY Ht, 7 qw, T wi p 1 f' L 'J Z XX i x C cc,-NJ iyfxffirg-23,1 'f Q vw, GQ W 'ig I M X fg WQZEA ML I Ijqfp U! The second game the boys met Manson on the latter's field. Defense was thrown to the wind and Lake City came home with a 52-26 victory. Next they met Manning on the Bulldog's field. The Bulldogs were too strong and won easily, 34-O. The Eagles then played their first home game against Glidden and defeated the boys south of Lake City 20-13. They then journeyed to Audubon and were defeated by the Wheelers 31-O. In the Homecoming game the Eagles played Rockwell City, their old rival. The Eagles scored in the opening minutes and led to half-time, but in the second half, Rockwell scored twice to win, 15-6. The boys then traveled to Lohrville and lost a close game to the Blackhawks, 7-6. Next they met Scranton at Lake City. Scranton was very highly rated, but the Eagles were ready for them. The first team consisted of Earl Savage and B111 Patterson as guards, Gene Hoeendahl, Robert Allen, and Wesley Hunziker as forwards, and Donald Allen at center. The boys entered the Twin Lakes Tournament at Rockwell City against Albert City, their victor in the finals last year, but lost a high scoring contest 49-39. Then came the Coon Valley Tournament at Coon Rapids. After taking seo- ond place last year, the boys had hopes of coming out on top this year. Their hopes were made even stronger after defeating Audubon 57-32. The next night they played a strong Manning quintet and lost to the tune of 55-27. In the consolation game they played Bayard and lost a close game 50-26. The boys were the defending championsof the County and wanted strongly to win again. They led Pomeroy, the final winner, until the last two mln- utes when the Cyclones put on a furious rally and surged ahead to win 42-61 In the Sectional Tournament at Rockwell City the boys drew Rockwell City. The team was using all they had, and they thoroughly trounoed their old rivals 48-50. In the finals they met Sac City and lost a heart break- ing game to the Indians 30-26. SeaB0n'B Record! Most of these girls had never participated in a basketball game and consequent- ly, ball-handling, coordination, violations, fouls, pivoting and other common terms of the sport were quite foreign to the above nucleus. Despite the obvious handicap, these girls were well endowed with a high measure of enthusiasm, fortitude, and a keen determination to win a percentage of their gamem The schedule of games will reveal two games won and five lost.
