Any high school girl who is willing to subscribe to our rules is an eligible member. The Homecoming of 1944 was minus many of our L.C.H.S. Girl Reserve The Girl Reserve Club has been an active organlzatlon in the Lake City High School for twenty-six years. This year we are very proud of our club, for it has more than doubled its memberships, making it the largest club in our high school. Besides our regular monthly meet1ng,the club has several out- standing social events, the most important being the Mother and Daughter Tea which is an annual affair. The Girl Reserves have given valuable service. We sold for- get-me-nots to aid crippled eold1ers,for the V.F.W., made hats for the Home Coming celebration and contributed to the March of Dimes. The officers this year are: President-Eleanor Burley, Vice Presl- dent, Doris Patterson, Secretary-Kathryn Burley, ,Treasurer-Eliza beth Howe. Carrie Dee Hancock is our Sponsor. 8 EAC! The members of the staff make assignments according to the activi- ,ties of the school week, write them up in reporting style and pre- esent them for public inspection on Thursday of each week. This :activity is possible because of the fine cooperation given the Eag- kles Echoes by the Lake City Graffic Staff. The members of the Eagles staff are all volunteers. At the first organization, an editor and four supporting officers are cho- sen who assume the responsibility of the editing and copying. The benefits that these members receive from this participation is adept- nese in written composition, observance in promotion and intelligent reading of newspapers, and, certainly, training in the performance of responsibilities. They try to give you a record of the school life of Lake City High. Robert Jones, our editor, was able to keep us busy writing a typing copy. Marvin Molitor, our business manager, had good flnan cial support both in the benefit show ticket sale and the advance subscription sale. We are grateful, also, th the photographers an all others who furnished pictures for our collection. As we turn these pages, we realize that it has taken the com blned skill of many hands and the ideas of many minds to produce the 1945 Whirlwind. We can say sincerely that it has been a great privilege to serve the Lake City High School in this capacity.
