Talking too much Tyrone Power Talking Women Skating Working Fort Dodge Lonrville Shirley Late hours School Staying out late Stray Animals Girls 74Z Carroll Scranton Coon Rapids History Never to be tardy History Basketball Horses Carroll Teachers Melvin Truck Farming sTeach1ng School Taking photos Sleeping Aviation Tests Music Pranks In September 1968 sixty three new students entered Lake City High School, composing a class destined to achieve many honors, both scholastlcally and in extra curricular tivities Although no outstanding achievements were made in our first year, ten members participated in instrumental music and eight in vocal music, while eight took part athletics We were also well represented in speech and other branches of the school's ac v es. In our Sophomore ye r we began to reap the fruits of our earnest efforts, in scholarship, athletics, and music. Two of our student musicians, Robert Pratt and Ashton McCrary, received superior ratings at the National Music Contest. the speech department we were represented by seven winners in the Home Declamatcry contest and also placed three members on the debate team. That year our class homecoming float won second place Three of our class became the twirllng section of our marching band. The achievements of our Junior year were expanded repetitions of our Sophomore year. Our class was now composed of only forty four memb rs, but our loss in members was not a loss in talent This ye r nineteen represented us in music and again Ashton McCrary and Bob Pratt went to the National Music Contest, Ashton winning a first rating and Bob a second division rating There were twelve representing us in athletics. The drum majorette, Gwynne Glass, and the two twirlers, Dorothy Doty and Doris Jean Johnson, were Juniors Three our of the four debaters were again from our class. Our Junior class play, 'American Passport' was the climax of our year's achievements. The homecoming float of our class took honors this time in first place. Our Senior year found us with a class composed of forty eight members, fourteen of whom were entered in music and ten took part ln athletics, Our drum majorette and our twirlers were Seniors this year and, as in the past two years, three members of the de bate team were from our class.
