In our Sophomore ye r we began to reap the fruits of our earnest efforts, in scholarship, athletics, and music. Two of our student musicians, Robert Pratt and Ashton McCrary, received superior ratings at the National Music Contest. the speech department we were represented by seven winners in the Home Declamatcry contest and also placed three members on the debate team. That year our class homecoming float won second place Three of our class became the twirllng section of our marching band. The achievements of our Junior year were expanded repetitions of our Sophomore year. Our class was now composed of only forty four memb rs, but our loss in members was not a loss in talent This ye r nineteen represented us in music and again Ashton McCrary and Bob Pratt went to the National Music Contest, Ashton winning a first rating and Bob a second division rating There were twelve representing us in athletics. The drum majorette, Gwynne Glass, and the two twirlers, Dorothy Doty and Doris Jean Johnson, were Juniors Three our of the four debaters were again from our class. Our Junior class play, 'American Passport' was the climax of our year's achievements. The homecoming float of our class took honors this time in first place. Our Senior year found us with a class composed of forty eight members, fourteen of whom were entered in music and ten took part ln athletics, Our drum majorette and our twirlers were Seniors this year and, as in the past two years, three members of the de bate team were from our class. Our homecoming float again took first place Our class flower is the Scarlet Carnation and our class colors are silver and green Our officers are as follows Vice President Roland Cobb Student Councilors Robert Pratt Treasurer Ashton MoCrary Class Sponsor Mr Smith . 8 . 80 sf E 0 l -. ac- in ' In President ---.-------- Walter Campbell Secretary- - - - ------ Gwynne Glass ,L Back Row: Third Row: Second Row: Front Row: we f5FQTA4 Fred Rosendahl, Jim O'Brien, Billy Blanchtield, Jim Owens, Robert Nunring, Daryl Fulkerson, Paul Astleford Roy Johnson, Verdsll Sohug, Frank Heath, John Veerhusen, Jim Eakln, filly Wadsworth, Dick Waters, Jim Richardson, Merl Doty Mr. Nelson, Doris Dumdel, Lois Brainerd, Maxine Nation, Donna Henning Donna Holm Vera Cole, Jean Johnston, Elaine Johnson, Janice Little, Gail Jean hamsey, Dorothy Carmean, June Farmer, Norma Wagner, Dorothy Schelldorf, Roy Allen, Warren McMeek1n, Miss Maudsley Dean Farmer, Betty Fangman, Lucille Moad, Grace DeSart, Betty Hicks, Beth Groves, Lavon Welch, Joan Gordon, Phyllis Gordon, Evelyn Seay, Ruth Rledl, Doris Mae Johnson, Pauline Hungate Fred Arndt, Warren Molntire Harold Stokes Bill Eldred e Robert S Melody, Harold Binkert, Arllse Barkmelen Dale Helm, Darwin MoMeek1n, Merlin Hays, Donald Ihrke The Junior Class, which has a membership of some sixty-two young men and women, is very proud of its representation on the 'Scroll of Education' It has been very adeptly legislated by the following officers: President - ---------- Donna Hennings Vice President ------------ Fred Arndt Secretary ---- -------- Janice Little Treasurer ------------ Robert Nuhring Student Councllors --------- Frank Heath - - - - - - - - - Donna Hola As well as having a splendid scholastic rating the Juniors have shown I very keen interest in all extra curricular activities. There were three Juniors on the Eagles EODOOI staff, and, when this article was being written, six members of the class were being chosen for membership in the new Dramatic Club.
