She straightens out many schedules and furnishes students with information that will help them choose their colleges and careers. Miss Scott attended Louisiana State L'niversity. where she received her BA. degree. and Columbia Lni- yersity. where she received her MA degree. Sponsor of the F.T.A.. Miss Scott enjoys traveling and fishing. SYLYIA SEALES. Mrs. Sylvia Seales. who teaches English and speech. is a graduate of South- western Louisiana Institute. where she received her B..-X. degree. As coach of debate and sponsor of the Tri-Hi-Y. Mrs. Seales has to man- age her time skillfully in order to find time to spend at her favorite avocation-reading plays. LESLIE SPIXKS, Mr. Spinks. a graduate of Northwestern State Col- lege, from which he received his B.A. degree: and the University of Houston. where he attained his Mus. Ed. degreeg teaches chorus. His hobby. like his vocation. is music. for in his spare time he works with many musical groups. He likes to play the accordion. HAROLD THIELE. Mr. Harold Thiele. a hunter and a traveler. teaches mechanical drawing and in- dustrial arts. Southwestern Louisi- ana Institute is the college from which he received his B.S. degree. Mr. Thiele likes woodwork. and in his spare time makes furniture for his home. BOBBIE THOMPSON. Miss Bobbie Thompson. who is the girls' physical education teacher at LCHS. is the sponsor of the Junior Tri-Hi-Y. She received her B.S. degree from Co- lumbia. Her favorite hobbies are. of course. sports. though she obtains much pleasure from driving-even the school bus. .IOIIN THOMPSON. Coach john Thompson received his BS. degree from Northwestern State College. He teaches algebra. geometry. and physical education. Mr. Nicosia attended Northwestern State College. where he received his B.S. degree: and the lfniyersity of Arkansas. where he received his M.E. degree. Although Coach's fav- orite hobby is playing with his two children. he also likes to cook. RACHAEL NORGRESS. Miss Rachael Norgress enjoys athletics and literature. On Sundays she is frequently seen on the tennis courts. On other days she may be swimming. Collecting pictures on her travels is another favorite pas- time. Miss Norgress teaches general history. civics. and English. She is sponsor of the Dramatics Club and the National Thespian Society. CLAYLIA NUNEZ. Miss Claylia Nunez. who received her B.S. de- gree from Southeastern Louisiana College. teaches general science. When the LCHS buses need some- one for chaperon. Miss Nunez is a frequent volunteer. She is very fond of playing bridge. RUTH REEDY. Mrs. Ruth Reedy received her B.A. degree from Louisiana College. and her B.S. in library science from the University of Illinois. She is the sponsor of the Library Club. the Senior Girls' Club. and co-sponsor of the Future Teachers of America. Her spare time this year is spent performing her duties as president of the Louisi- ana Library Association. LORENA ROBERTS. Miss Lorena Roberts is known for outstanding work in the YN clubs. This year she is sponsor of the Kitten Club. Miss Roberts attended Northwestern State College. where she received her ll..-X.: and L.S.If.. where she received her M.A. degree. She teaches algebra and plane geome- try. When at home she spends much time listening to the radio while she sews. ' ELIZABETH SANGER. Mrs. Eliza- beth Sanger. business advisor of the Wildcat,' and the Catalog, re- ceived her A.B. and B.S. degrees from the University of Missouri. 1968 A fi' 'Y MISS GRACE ULMER MISS EBBIE WHITTEN GRACE ULNIER. Miss Grace Ul- mer. who teaches American history. graduated from Judson College with a B.A. degree. Sponsor of the Stu- dent Council. Miss Iflmer directs the Homecoming Ball. the Frontier Day activities, and graduation. She loves antiques. and has a fine col- lection of old lamps. LOUISE YICK. Miss Louise Yick teaches typing and shorthand. She enjoys sketching and is the sponsor of the F.B.L.A. She attended North- western State College. where she received her B.S. degree. EBBIE WHITTEN. Miss Ebbie Whitten. who received her B.A. from Mississippi State Colle g e for Women. and her MA. degree from the University of Virginia. teaches English and is one of the sponsors of the Catalog She likes to read, fish. and whittle. However, from September until the 6'Catalog goes to press in February. her only hobby is photography. ROBERT JOHN WURSTER. Mr. Bob Wtirster teaches civics and gen- eral history. He graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute. where he received his B.S. and B.A. degrees. Mr, Wllrster has many in- terests. In addition to sponsoring the Auto Club and the freshman and sophomore Hi-Y Clubs. he is also a commissioner of Boy Scouts. FLORENCE BEARD. Mrs. Florence Beard. known to all the students and faculty as f'Flo. is the courteous hostess who greets all newcomers to our school. Besides being Mr. St. Dizier's efficient secretary. she is the repository for all the students' troubles. Flo's hobby this year is furnishing her brand new home. LLCILLE DUPLECHAIN. Mrs. Lucille Duplechain. who plays an important role at LCHS. is the cafe- teria dietitian. She also makes the atmosphere of the cafeteria pleasant with numerous potted plants, which she raises.
