' Dedication Over a period of years, which is as long as the time that most of the members of the Catalog staff have been in school, a group of outstanding Lake Charles citizens have been making plans for a bigger and better Lake Charles High School. These persons spent long hours of their own time working with architects and contractors on plans for remodeling. Acceptable plans finally were agreed upon, and remoled- ing began. Then came the catastrophe of the fire, which destroyed our Alma Mater and entailed for these planners many more extra days, weeks, and months of labor. Out of the innumerable trials, vicissitudes, and headaches which inevitably accompany the planning and construction of any new build- ing, there emerged the new and beautiful Lake Charles High School, of which all Wildcats are justifiably proud. To those six persons. Superintendent G. W. Ford and the five mem- bers of the Lake Charles City School Board— Mr. Mark Wentz, Mr. Frank Field, Dr. H. B. Hewett, Mr. George Hines, and Mrs. E. B. Watson— who have so generously and graciously devoted so much of their time and effort to the conception and the execution of our building, the Catalog Staff of 1952-53 proudly and gratefully dedicates this yearbook.
