WESTERN PACIFIC! RIM OF THE PACIFIC DEPLOYMENT 24 May e name 'USS Lake olain' honors the battle Sept. 11, 1814, in Lake lain's Plattsburg Bay, the war of 1812. Commandant Tho- MacDonough com- the United States comprising of the 26- Saratoga, three ships, and ten gun I-Ie was opposed by a J larger British under Commodore Downie, whose flag- as the 37-gun frigate OF LAKE CI-IAIVIPLAIN Treaty of Ghent, Which con- cluded the War of 1812. CG 57 is the third U.S. Navy ship to honor the name. The first was a cargo vessel serving in World War I.
