COMNAVSURTPAC Note : Congratulations on an outstanding deployment to the Filth Fleet .A.OR. m demonstrated our nation ' s resolve in one of the most unpredictable regions of the wodd. You ser ed as a potent deterrent force, and your crews ' saciifices and successes made a tremendous differ- ence. You should all have a keen sense of pride knowing you met every challenge during your deploy- ment. The many exercises and multi-national operations in which you represented the United States placed a critical role in ensuring the future stabilit ' of the Arabian Gulf region. .Specifically, your aiidation of chokepoint safe passage procedures with allied navies and the myriad of queries, boardings and diverts conducted in support of UN sanctions are a clear indication of the relevance of , surface Navy operations. Similarly, ycjur efforts working with and alongside our GCC partners and allies helped to extend American Navy professionalism to these same maritime partners, an important goal in our nation ' s engagement policy. Throughout tfie deployment, your performance at sea and your conduct ashore provided a superb example of operational excellence, leadership and teamwork. Upon your return home, I wish you and your families and friends the best and safest of reunions. I couldn ' t be prouder of your superior performance and look forward to seeing you on the waterfront after your well-deserved stand down period. Well done! VADM Moore sends.
