Several students voiced their opinions. Thad Reeves said that even though the classes were easier, he had a lot more homework. Other students, such as Gretchen Short. Shelly Stumpf, and Gary Samf. agreed. Said Gary Samf,•'I'm looking for- ward to ninth grade and finally be- ing in high school. We'll have a break, more dances, and we can participate in high school sports. As usual, a large number of students attended the dance. In- termediate dances seemed to en- joy a special popularity, probably because only four were held each year. The four dances were spon- sored evenly between the seventh and eighth graders. A band wasn't hired, but a disc jockey played such popular songs as “Smoke on the Water, Private Eyes, “Another One Bites the Dust, and “Dance the Night Away.
