• i 10 j Every year, students dedicate many hours into creating the ultimate float to represent their class during the homecoming festivities. This year was no exception. With Fairy Tales as the theme, four unique floats were created. The winning float was the freshmen float, based on Peter Pan. Runners up were the sophomore float, modeled after Hansel and Gretel; Jack and the Beanstalk by the juniors; and The Three Little Pigs by FFA.

 • — Homecoming each year brings with it the excited football players, the anxious candidates all dressed up, and the frenzied float committees trying to finish by Friday, Oct. 4. During the pep assembly on Friday, September 20, the excitment all began, with the announcement of the king and queen candidates. Four king and four queen candidates were chosen by the senior class. The candidates include Michelle Coryell, Katy Smith, Mary Swarthout and Christine Mitchell running for queen, and running for king the candidates were James Muzzall, Eric Wurm, Mark Schlicher and Joel Mires. After a pause and a drum roll at the game late that night the announcement for the new king and queen came and '84 queen Teresa Burt crowned Katy Smith as her successor. Meanwhile newly appointed king Eric Wurm was receiving congratulations in the pack locker room from his teammates. Everyone worked hard all week long to make that friday night a Fairytale , so even though it did rain a bit, everything went smoothly.

The traditional homecoming dance was held in the LMS gym. Sponsoring the dance, the senior class requested that the dress code be semi-formal; with guys wearing ties and girls wearing street Length dresses. Dancing music was furnished by Dave Bennett, WMFK disc jockey.
