. £'• ;jg|L vy A. '. THE 1979 LOOKING GLASS IS DEDICATED TO DR. HARRY W. KRUGER 1918-1978 Dr. Harry W. Kruger was born on April 8, 1918, to August and Johanna Kruger. He attended Muskegon High School and gradu- ated from Des Moines Still College, Des Moines, Iowa. He was an intern at Lansing General Hospital. Dr. Kruger was a great sports fan. Even after his own children graduated from Lainsburg, he still attended many of Laingsburg's football and basketball games. Dr. and Mrs. Kruger had two children. They are H. Robert and Ann Marie, both graduates of Lainsburg High School. Dr. Kruger was an active member in the com- munity for over 30 years and admired by all. JOY (LEE) CURTIS 1955- 1978 This year's senior class of seventy-nine would also like to dedicate the Looking Glass to Joy (Lee) Curtis, who was born on March 12, 1955. She lived with her parents Mr. Rob- ert and Mrs. Norma Lee, who own a Laings- burg farm, until she was married. She began school at the Walter's country school where she finished the eighth grade. Then she started ninth grade at Laingsburg High School from which she graduated in 1973. She attended Lansing Community College to become a library technician. When she fin- ished she was employed at the Laingsburg Middle and High school libraries and also the Laingburg Public Libarary. On April 24, 1976 she was married to Richard G. Curtis. A little over a year later she had her first and only child, Jamie Jean Curtis June 10, 1977. Almost two years after she was married she died in an auto accident on March 25, 1978. She is one of the most important people in the school. Gert has been working here as a secretary for approximately six years. She supervises students who work as office aides. Gert acts as if she enjoys her work because she seems to always be in a good mood. Most everyone likes her because she is so understanding. Gert is the nurse when someone gets hurt. She also sells the lunch tokens. Gert answers the telephone and does other office jobs, like typing, filing, and bookkeeping. She also makes time to do things for teachers and students, such as running the ditto machine, and the xerox machine.
