Ancient Roman day was o memorable experience for oIL The ma- jority of rhe Junior class disployed their spirit by dressing in Roman apparel, consisting of white robes, with shiny gold accessories, and decorative leaf or- noments. The Junior doss officers spon- sored an outgoing ossembly during snock ond lunch. There was a gome of tug-of-wor, grope eating contests, Roman Dingo, and the devouring of three six-foot Togo ' s submarine sand- wiches. Robyn Orohood commented, Roman day exhibited the spirit ond creotiveness of rhe Class of ' 89. Another student, SunHI Park, stoted, The experience of Roman day brought everyone closer together The Junior Romans decorofed the quod with vines, leaves, columns and humorous Roman statues. ' ' 9 osers ' of ,he 5o once The sophomore doss of 1990 definitely revealed their spirit os they united during spirit week dressed os 50 ' s youths. Many wore cordigons, poodle skirts and old lertermon ' s jackets in on attempt to retrace the path of time once tracked by their parents. Included in the day ' s ac- tivities were bubble gum blowing contests, big wheel drag roces ond hoolo — hoop competitions. Denise Cochran ond Paul PquIqc displayed how low they could go , OS top contestants in limbo, while Jeremy Stone went undefeated in the hoolo — hoop contest. Laughter ond goiry depicted throughout the day the obvious enjoyment experienced by the sophomores. 50 ' s day was cool. The thing I enjoyed most was watching David Oh do the twist and seeing Brain Sloybock ottempt the limbo. -Aryn Mac Donald On October 26th these hedonistic sophomores dressed as 50 ' s teens, were successful in their efforts to convey the spirit and uni- ty that Homecoming week is oil about.
