The key to the Howks ' defense was their strength on the mound ond behind the plate. Outstanding performances were displayed by pitchers Brian Kessler and Brian Hauser, infielders David Childs and Jeff Sadler, outfielder Matt Schiel and catcher Brian Hender- son. The void wos filled by returnees Shelley Corey, Tina Gostel, Carolyn Longfield, Leah Miller, Erlko Schlifz and Lorl Som- mers . Morgo Melendrez , a transfer from Capo Valley, became the new storting pitcher ond led the Hawks to another suc- cessful season. We hove to hove a more balanced team ef- fort.
