. . . Wonting to win is half the match. This philosopl-iy, almost religiously preached by the Varsity coach, Jock Hodges, became the moin source of motivation for the team throughout the season. This desire to succeed become evident as they attained an impressive record of 22-1, Their determination enabled them to surpass lost year ' s accomplishments as they retained the Pacific Coast League title and odvonced to the CIF 3A finals After defeoting Agouro, the 2 seeded team in CIF, the Howks gave it their all. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the 1 seed, Son Marino. With Q strong returning nuclei and the addition of three newcomers, the Varsity Team surpassed its previous achievements, highlighting their season with the CIF 3A Runner-Up position and three individual CIF qualifiers. The JV team completed their most successful season also with on overall leogue record of 10-0, leaving the courts with their first ever leogue title. Contributions from the 1 singles player, Gino Bellini, and 2 singles, Julie Kessler, proved to be voluoble assets throughout the season, finishing with impressive records of 07-5 Qnd34-1, respectively.
