Pitching, hitting and scoring is the name of the game. Blessed with many returning players, The JV Baseball team had high prospects to finish at the top. Led by Coach John Peters, the team had undeniable determination and a positive attitude that wouldn't quit. The team's spark plugs include at pitching, Jeff Tripp and Darren Cochran and in- fielders, Russ Harmon and Marc Dak. The team looked forward to a strong per- formance by Joey Bennett, Peter Kim, Andy Mulato and Derek Edgars. With the players' excitment of being on the team, they put out everything they had while still having fun. lt's like being in a big happy family, working together to get the job done, says Russ Harmon. Jeff Tripp felt very honored to be on the team this season. Coach Peters had a great time during the season, working with such talented and dedicated kids. With their experience and strength, the Hawks had a memorable season. Maturing, learning, and dreaming is the name of the game for this year's Frosh- Soph team. There were eight freshmen and nine sophomores on the team. They had two very strong pitchers, Beau Hosler, freshmen and Chad Muhr, Sophomore. Chad performed with excep- tional skill. He swept a double hitter in the scrimmage games, had only three hits, no runs and several strike outs. Other outstanding players were Brian Hender- son behind the plate, Ryan Curammeng at short-stop, in the outfield Mark Wells. Coach Adams and a great time leading this great team. JV Top: Bill Schellenberg, Mike Feitz, Aric Roman, Al Saldana, Coach Peters. 2nd: Jason Thompson, Brett Abbott, Joe Bennett, Andy Mullado, Jeff Tripp, Kevin Lovinger, Adam Bryan. 3rd: Russ Harmon, Dusty Christenson, Darren Rogers, Marc Dak, Darren Cochran, Derek Edgar. With only one returning player, Lisa LaPorte, the team was comprised of new members who provided tough competiton to the opposing teams. Entering the new Pacific Coast League, the team challenged the opposition with power and force. Strong pitching from Sandy Paddock, backed by the excellent defense, enabled the team to succeed on the field. They com- bined strong hitting with cunning and alert plays to hold their own and win. Coach Stein displayed pride when describing the team. I have high expec- tations of this year's team, and they are enthusiastic about fulfilling them. 221
