The Boys' Hawk Varsity Soccer has had one of their best- seasons ever, posting a record of 12 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties. Led by the prolific scoring of Brian Fleming, Pat Richards, Jose Campos and Kevin Macare, the Hawks quickly moved to the top of the Pacific Coast League. The improvement in this year's team can also be attributed to the hard work of the defense - especially solid play from Dave Delmonico, Kyden Reeh, Mike Gibney, and John Evans. Hopefully the Team's strong play will continue over the last half of the P.L.C. which should lead to a league championship and a birth in the C.l.F playoffs Varsity: Brian Casagrande, Kevin Casagrande, Phil Colquette, Dave Delmonico, Devon Diaz, John Evans, Neil Fenner, Brian Fleming, Brian Gibney, Jon Harris, Keith Henderson, Justin Jones, Kevin Macare, Kyden Reeh, Pat Richards, Steve Shafizadeh, and Todd Sperber. Erin Mc Ginnis, and Joelynn Tinch. For the first time in Laguna Hills history, the girls varsity volleyball team clinched a spot in the CIF playoffs. Despite the change from the 4-A South Coast League to the 5-A Pacific Coast League volleyball ranking, the fearless Hawkettes rivaled county powerhouses like Woodbridge and Laguna Beach to capture a 3rd place crown and a chance to the CIF title. The devastating starting line-up with the tremendously talented bench and superb strategy of a first year coach, Flenn Amstead, proved to be the winning com- bination to their success. With many returning players for the next season, the team already has high aspirations for an exciting command performance. The JV volleyball team had their share sucesses in the new league as well. Driven with intense competition and sup- portive coaching by Sue Stein, the Jr. Hawkettes had a remarkable season which produced not only wins but promis- ing recruits for next year's varsity. As newcomers to the game, the frosh- soph volleyball team had quite a learning experience. The highlight of their season definitely had to be their unparalleled defeat of the top-ranked frosh-soph team from Woodbridge. This established their team status that will definitely be a forceful impact as their talents come to full potential. Girls' J. V. - beautiful on and off the court. Look at those verticle leaps! After a long season, the Hawks retire with style. Another perfect senre by Leila Shukur. What make these otherwise rnormal hands' different? Better fingers of course! Show off those pearly whites, frosh-soph. Girls' Varsity Volleyball - the great looks of a winning team.
