American Studies A ni0 5 l 5 I 4 t if ::,, r 1'-.f 'S Challenge Creativity ardwork, lasting friendship, and study groups are only a few words to describe Junior Humanities. 'Mr. Gunderson and Mr. Stonebarger make it enjoyable, comments Sabina Malik. Considering the course includes preparation for the Advanced Placement U.S. History test in conjunction with English lll Honors, incor- porating fun with learning is the ticket to success. A noticeable characteristic of the double-block course is the com' raderie of the students. Through honors, you meet your long term friends, observ- ed Shazeen Mufti. Diane Song agrees and states, Many of our friends in Honors are also enrolled in the same math, foreign language, and sciences classes. It is no wonder why study groups are a frequent practice among these special students. lt adds spirit to the class, says David Hall. Some memorable activities include the Nature Walk, and stealing Mr. Gunderson's gavel. The Junior .Humanities have gained true insight into academic growth and will be prepared to move on to yet more challenges. Lynn Lambert tries to keep up with Mr. Stonebargefs lectures. Meanwhile, Don Hess is amazed with all the knowledge he is gain- ing. Kevin Casagranda seems to find History amusing while Todd Wolfe can hardly stay awake. Finally, Stoney sneaks in for the last picture with Jenny Foster. 133
