Wmdu - RICHARD BIZZARRI - a senior and captain of the team. He has played forward on the varsity for four years. Rich will be a great loss to the team as he was one of the top point makers. CHARLES CALOVINI - a senior, and a new member to the varsity also plays forward. Charley's addition to the team has been a great help. JIM SHIPPY - a senior is captain of the re- serve team. Jim is very good to have around for a replacement on the varsity. ROBERT CALOVINI - a junior, has a little experience on varsity as he was one of the top seven last year. Bob has a lot of fight and will be back again next year. . RON CALOVINI - a junior, who started late in the season because of an injury comes in very handy when we need a replacement. JOHN YOBY - a junior, is our top ball hand- ler. John is known throughout the valley as a dribbling expert. TOM HODER - a junior, is a member of the reserve team and plays varsity when needed. RON ALEXANDER - a sophomore, also a good ball handler rounds out the first five. Ronnie has a few more years and will be very helpful. RESERVE TEAM Jackie Stefani ------ Sophomore---Forward Michell Gillam ----- -Freshman ---- Center Micheal Slatt ------ Junior ------ Guard Charles Smith '----- Junior ------ Guard Udell Cimini ----- Freshman ---- Forward Frank Springhetti- Freshman ---- Guard FREMO ROSS---a graduate of St. Clairsville, is a new addition to the Lafferty faculty and in the sports' picture. This is his first year as coach for both the basketball and the football teams. He succeeded Ernest Albanese, who was coach for 22 years. Last year 419539 the Lafferty basketball team had a very successful season and came through to win the County Tournament Championship. They lost out in the second game of the sectional tournament to Scio after trying, the much controversial, deep freeze, which is to be long remembered here at Laf- ferty High School. We lost three of our top players by grad- uation. They were Bill Azallion, Nick Gillam and Foo Zantelli, Rich Bizzarri and John Yoby are the boys remaining from the cham- pion varsity team.
