CLASS HISPORY In the year 1946, twenty one electlnns from Bath came together with thirty six p oton rom L F Vette to form the atom of '50 Several OL our ul lo s nd protons pa tici psted in basletball, football, and tracl many also joined with the nucleus or tae FFA Our homeroom chemist w s T rton Packer who e ueri ents nd brought forth two class parties at the beginning 01 t1e scnool year and a skating party on January 20 Je cho e the followin s he d orotons and elec trons Joe Skinner was president, Roger Kelley, vice presi dent, Ronald Conawav, secletar treasurer, and A1106 Joan Bassett, student council xeozesentative Eight of our fresh men girls were in Girls' Glee, five freshmen boys in Boys' Glee, and five girls and three boys in Mixed Chorus Three girls were in the winning girls' ensemble They were Alice Jean Bassett, Marilyn Larly, and Clenna Arnold Alice Jean Bassett won the piano solo Several ofour roup participated in band and orchestra Joe Skinner won h s letter in foot- ball Mr, Packer guided our atomic force into staging a hay ride which proved disastrous since it was in green tomato season The other atoms at LaFayette in order to make the electrons and protons more closely united staged an lnltia tion. A Cantata was also given during the year bv the atoms of LaFayette We lost the following electrons during the school year Dale Crafford, Elmer Nault, Jim Norbeck, Roger Kelley, Charles Sanchez, Janet Thompson, Ethyl Jallace, and Cleo Roose. We gained the following well known chemists J J Kreglow, Ruth Iosher, George Cox, Alice Louise Driver, and Russell Fellers. However, we lost the following chemists in our rapid change to atoms Bernice Vandemark, Virginia Kllngler, Lenore Myers, and C C Earlv On September 7, 1947, fifty two sophomores returned to dear old LaFayette Our head cheni t for this year was Mrs. Ruth Mosher As in our freshman year many electrons and pro tons took part ln athletics and music Joe Skinner Ronald Conaway and Kermit Kiracofe were in the winning boys: ensem ble Alice Jean Bassett and Glenna Arnold were in the win ning girls' ensemble Robert Farnishfeger and Ronald Conaway earned their letters in football and the former along with Joe Skinner won one also in basketball Henry Stump, one of our,classmates passed away on February T3 He was manager of the basketball team and plaved guard on the football team, Mrs. nosher in oneof!uu'moments of brilliant research about the kernel of the atom decided that if she whipped up some parties, skating and otherw1se,1t:would make the school year all the more pleasant which it did. we chose as our heads for this year the following: Jean Clum, presldentg Janet Smith, vice-president, Joe Skinner, secretary-treasurer: and Richard weaver, student council representative, Like any other atom we shifted our molecular composition and in doing so lost the following electrons: Kevin Christy, Earl Howard, Robert Myers, Dale Wlnce, Beverly Knotts, and Bertha Smith. r t Q . - I .
