CLASS HISTORY On a windy September day in the fall of 1945, sixty smiling boys and girls walked into the freshman homeroom of LaFayette-Jackson High School. Within a few days we elected officers. The results were: President, James Bassettg Vice- President, James Thomasg Secretary, Richard Kerskerg Treas- urer, Viola Gauseg Student' Council Representative, Betty Rundio. Then came the great day when the freshman initita- tion took place. You should have seen all those smiling freshmen with long skirts and their sweaters on backwards, with a boot on one foot and a shoe on the other, carrying a great big book. In the evening we looked out of the music room and saw a long string of other boys and girls with pad- dles. What else was there to do but go through that line and get it over with. Ve did. But oh, we had a very funny feeling behind us for a little while! The heat just rolled. We were sorry to have the following withdraw: Margaret Wurm, James Fedele, Merle Frick, Reva Jackson, Donna Wilkins, Carl Holt, and Dick Brown.
